Historica specialise in providing talent that knows history - from dressed extras to historical reenactors. Many reenactors are passionate and expert historians who can provide their own (already fitted!) costumes, arms and armour, props etc. Importantly, reenactors know how to act ‘historically’ – they can be relied upon to know a great deal of historical information about their ‘character’.

In 2004 Historica formed a partnership with 3/30 Talent and our first engagement was to provide specialist extras for the TV Mini-series Mary Bryant. This was a challenging task – to provide specialist military reenactors and starving convicts!

In October 2004 Historica coordinated the re-enactors for the SBS ‘Living History’ program The Colony. We cast Redcoats, Government Officials and Convicts from circa 1804 for the ‘intrusions’ into The Colony, an enclave of people struggling to cope with the life and conditions of the early 1800s. One of the Crew-members from The Colony recorded his account of the intrusions;

"The decision to use knowledgeable re-enactors paid off handsomely.

There was both authenticity and comedy in the right amount, and

everyone told me today how convincing they were. The colonists felt appropriately nervous during the inspection, and the magistrate was sharp enough to make perfect one line comebacks… It was great stuff."
