Historica was founded in 2003 by Brett Kenworthy and Dr Stephen Gapps.

Historica’s aim is to produce contemporary, inspirational, and highly authentic cultural productions of ‘living history’ across diverse spatial venues and media formats. From the Battle of Vinegar Hill to Vikings wandering through Sydney, we design and manage events such as commemorative re-enactments and educational displays and provide a range of services for documentaries and historical films. We also provide specialist historical consultancy skills for the interpretation and promotion of historical sites, and for visual media productions with historical content. Historica work closely with specialist re-enactors and we believe ‘living history’ and ‘historical re-enactment’ to be powerful mediums for communicating the past in the present.
